Pulmonary Function
The Pulmonary Function clinic offers Pulmonary Function Tests at Reynolds Army Health Clinic includes; spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion testing, Home O2 studies, arterial blood gases, exercise challenges, methacholine challenges to determine obstructive and restrictive lung diseases. PFT’s are used to measure the lung function and to diagnose and monitor the progression of respiratory conditions. Various tests are used to determine the following; Compare lung functions with known standards to show how well your lungs should be working. Measure the effect of chronic diseases such as asthma, COPD and cystic fibrosis. Identify changes in lung functions that can help determine a change in treatment options. Show exposure to environmental substances that could cause lung damage. Determine patient’s ability to participate in medical procedures/surgery.
